We are living in a time where technology has never been as widespread or advancing as quickly as it is right now. Chances are you probably know more people (adults at least) who have a smartphone than those who don’t. That wouldn’t be the case just ten years ago (the first iPhone was launched in 2007 for reference), but in the technology world 10 years is an eternity, and the Triple Revolution does a great job of explaining what is going on. For a little background the term “Triple Revolution” is one we discussed in my social informatics course in college (it wasn’t as boring as it sounds, I promise):

  1. Mobile technology has allowed users to access and share information wherever they may be. 

  2. The Internet has allowed us to both gather and share information on a scale unimaginable by those in the past.

  3. Social networks have allowed individuals to reach beyond tight groups of associate


So we’ve got social networks, the Internet, and mobile technology. If you’re reading this blog you probably have access to all three and use them all on a regular basis, if not daily. Not only has the Triple Revolution changed consumers, it’s changed how people chase their dreams with hopes of being, creating, or selling… 


Unfortunately, I don’t have the secret formula to creating the next big thing, if I did I wouldn’t be writing this blog. However, I do know two of the best tools you can use to capitalize on the Triple Revolution. I hope you’re already intrigued because that’s all the buildup I can come up with. Website and databases!
